Jewelry Update

As many of you know this former single girl has gotten her self a hobby, making jewelry. I just wanted to let you know that I'm up and running and have officially made my first (4) sales. Plus, I've decided to name my little hobby "Paisley White". Look for me on Etsy VERY soon!

But, in the mean time I'm taking orders ladies so let me know what I can make you.

I'm LOVING my workspace!

Everything is bigger in Texas...

Last week The Great White Hunter headed to Texas for a company meeting leaving me HOME ALONE. Now, if any of you follow my blog you've probably read somewhere that I don't do the best when I'm HOME ALONE. Needless, to say I was pretty sure that any robbers, killers or monsters in the neighborhood were waiting for my husband to leave to attack our precious home. It was a very long (2) nights of jumping ready to attack at every sound I heard. But, thankfully I lived through it and on Friday of that week I headed to Texas as well. The PBR held their annual Iron Cowboy event at Cowboy's Stadium in Arlington and this year timing was perfect for The Great White Hunter to join me for the weekend. We were able to sneak away on Friday evening for an AMAZING dinner just the (2) of us to celebrate V-Day. We went to Bob's Steak and Chop House near downtown Dallas. We both had amazing steaks and really enjoyed the old gangster type atmosphere. On Saturday morning the craziness started at 9:00 and didn't end till about midnight.
But, one of the bonuses this year was a Toby Keith concert before the bull riding began. We got to watch the concert from about (15) feet away from where he was performing. It was awesome but a bit loud! Another bonus was we escorted Jerry Jones into the stadium. Like a normal small town girl I had no idea that was the plastic looking guy walking behind us until The Great White Hunter got super excited and explained who he was. These two former single people had a blast in the house that Jerry built!

Valentine's Day

On Saturday, February 12th I celebrated Valentine's Day just like an active lady would want to celebrate a holiday by playing in a volleyball tournament. My two v-ball ladies, Sheri and Mary, and myself teamed up to create "The Fabulous 3". We had a blast and ended up 2-2 on the day, but got a lot of comments about only playing with (3) people and  keeping all of our competitors to extremely close matches. Plus, we had fabulous socks and awesome t-shirts thanks to our team designer Olivia, Mary's daughter.

My New Workspace

This past week The Great White Hunter was nice enough to add a little investment to my new jewelry making by purchasing me a new work space. He keeps saying that he’s just letting me borrow it, but he knows it really does work better for me. It’s an old flying tying desk that we purchased from a couple out of Woodland Park.
When we arrived to look at the desk we had discussed with my dad our strategy and we were ready to deal. Upon entering the home where the desk was located The Great White Hunter noticed the many hunting trophies all over the walls. Of course this sparked his interest and he and the husband of the couple started chatting about his many hunting adventures. Come to find out he used to be the chief editor for Buckmasters Magazine and was the one who invented the Buckmasters Scoring system. For all you hunters’ out there getting to meet someone like this is a BIG deal for someone who spends the majority of their time hunting, ie The Great White Hunter. For all of the rest of us, his wife ended up being amazing and her and I ended up checking out Etsy.  Well, we came home with the desk which was a one of kind built out of cypress and sycamore by a man down around the Alabama area. Did we stick to our strategy? Nope, but The Great White Hunter was more excited about who we bought the desk from then getting a good deal.  Now, our 1st furniture purchase as a married couple has a cool story and it’s really a piece I don’t think we’ll be getting rid of very soon.

Side Note - For those of you that read this post about our new piece of furniture I'll let you in on a little "secret" first. This past week my husband had a first of his very own! He apparently didn't learn from his speedy wife and he received his first speeding ticket as a married man. Moral of the story - every once in a while pay attention to your wife if you know what's good for you.
